About Us

JoAnna McTevia is a licensed clinical social worker and addiction counselor. She first integrated dogs into her therapeutic practice in 2013, focusing on helping veterans with posttraumatic stress.

Experiencing the profound impact that dogs have on therapeutic services led JoAnna to expand her career working with dogs. She pursued several certification programs, including Certification as a Professional Dog Trainer through national examination, Certified Service and Therapy Dog Trainer, and a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner.

JoAnna continuously expands her knowledge through professional development and collaboration with industry professionals. She recently completed NePoPo Silver School and approaches training with a nonjudgmental, “whole dog” mindset.

What sets JoAnna apart is her understanding of how our everyday challenges impact our behavior and, consequently, our dog’s behavior. She deeply respects the power of the canine bond and recognizes that dogs can reach us in ways humans often can’t.

With a dedication to bridging the gaps between dogs and humans, JoAnna strives to go above and beyond to help clients develop harmonious relationships with their loyal companions.
